888Casino scoops prestigious award

It has been somewhat of a good year for 888 Holdings, especially after their purchase of William Hill’s non-US assets, which is set to be fully completed in early 2022.

In addition to this, it has expanded its footprint in the increasingly popular US market with several partnerships, not least of which is a significant link-up with media brand Sports Illustrated, as well as a handful of other smaller deals.

However, their brand, 888Casino has made the headlines after winning the Casino Operator of the Year crown for the third time at the EGR Operator Awards, in a particularly competitive marketplace.

Cementing global credibility

This is indeed good timing for 888, who have ambitious plans to further expand globally, but also it pays tribute to the amount of work that has been implemented behind the scenes at the company at a time when they have a lot happening.

It enjoys one of the most comprehensive online casinos in the industry, boasting in excess of 2,000 casino games and slots, plus its own, dedicated live casino suite, from a wide range of software providers. This also includes unique titles from its own software company, Dragonfish Gaming, which is their B2B (Business to Business) division of their operation.

Upon receiving the award, VP of the B2C (Business to Customer), Casino Business Unit, Tayla Benyamini commented: “These awards are a fantastic recognition of the standout year 888 has had. Alongside posting record financial results, this year has seen our product-leadership strategy deliver significant product and content enhancements that put player experience at the heart and provide a personalised and differentiated experience.

“This is all supported by our innovative and industry-leading marketing capabilities, and our deep commitment to safer gambling which remains at the core of everything we do.”

Increased potential for their sports offering

Following the acquisition of William Hill, this presents a strong opportunity for 888 to challenge in the sportsbook arena as well, with their 888Sport brand. It remains to be seen how and if the company utilises any William Hill products for their own site, with this being somewhat of a specialist in certain areas of sports betting.

What may decide this is how the US market reacts to their sportsbook, in terms of whether this will result in a similar award in the future, though the signs are certainly positive at the minute for the Gibraltar-based online gambling firm.

Currently, sports bettors can enjoy wagering on a range of different sports and markets at 888Sport, which is one of the most technologically forward-thinking online betting brands in the industry.
